History

The knight van Ophem came in the 12th century to Oppem. He built a farm with a chapel. Later on cardinal Sterckx (1792-1867-, archbishop from Mechelen lived in this farm. From then on the farm became the name of Sterckxhof.

Since four generations the family Vanderhasselt has owned the farm. In 2001 a part of the farm has transformed into six bed and breakfast rooms. Your hostess is Chris Vanderhasselt.
